Chania, Crete Shore Excursion

Duration: 4 hrs

Your Chania Crete Shore Excursion will start at the port of Chania, Souda bay and you will first visit the achaeological site of Aptera one of the most important city-states in Crete during the Minoan period. During your visit to the site you can see some of the ancient fortifications, aqueducts, public baths and graves. But the most impressive of the preserved ancient buildings are the groups of Roman reservoirs that together with many wells and tanks served the needs of the city and supplied the facilities of the public and private baths. The city had a theater, which is not completely revealed yet.

The Chania Crete Shore Excursion will continue at the beautiful old town of Chania. You are sure to be amazed by the Chania lighthouse which is considered the landmark of Chania Old Town.
Your Crete Tour Guide will then take you to Turkish Seaside Mosque of Yiali Tzami before visiting the Ottoman Baths of Chania that were built during the Turkish occupation of Crete in the 1600’s. For those who are interested in museums you can visit the Chania Archaeological Museum (optional) which contains an impressive collection of artifacts and finds from the excavations of the ancient settlements scattered all over the Greek Island of Crete.
